• This second-year algebra course represents a mathematical progression from the concept of numbers as experienced in arithmetic to the notion of properties of numbers without regard to their value, a necessary tool for science applications. Formal abstraction and the use of a scientific and graphing calculator will enable students to understand and analyze data in many occupational and academic fields.
  • The content of this course is very similar to first-year university Introduction to Psychology classes. Students will:

    -Survey the field of psychology and psychological science.

    -Understand the basic principles of psychology as applied to one's everyday life, including one's career/field of study.

    -Develop critical thinking skills as they apply to social science issues and research.

    -Gain experience with conducting psychological research.

    -Compare and contrast the major theoretical viewpoints and research findings for each of the course topics.
  • This course is aimed at advanced students of Chinese including background speakers and advanced learners. The stress is placed on articles reading, analysis ability as well as grammar in integrated fashion. Students will learn more about Chinese contemporary literature , ancient literature ,culture and history of literature and society through making projects and researching.   Students use language skills and cultural knowledge to connect with local, national, and international community.
